FRIDAY JUL 11 2014
An upper ridge of high pressure (off the coast) will bring a drier and more stable airmass to our district, Friday and thru the Weekend. This will mostly eliminate thunderstorm chances for us except a slight chance in Northern Mono County and Reno areas. That ridge will gradually shift east to the Four Corners area early next week. In doing so, it will set up the possibility of a southeasterly flow aloft. This could bring in another surge of monsoonal moisture into our area Monday or Tuesday of next week. So, there should develop the threat of afternoon and evening thunderstorms each day over the Sierra. Stay tuned for more updates.
