After yesterdays cool down from a late season storm, things begin to heat up. Yesterday we got scattered showers in Mammoth Lakes, Mono and Mineral counties. Today however is a different story as strong ridging begins to move in from the Desert SW. By the weekend or the early part of next week, the Owens Valley and Reno should see the start of a string of 100+ days, with Tuesday being the hottest. Along with the high temperatures, the threat of isolated thunderstorms increases, particularly in Mono County on Tuesday and Wednesday. More on this in the weekend forecast.

OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs 91 – 94 / Lows 60 – 70. Winds  NW 10 – 15 mph.
Saturday / Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs 95 – 100  / Lows 73 – 76. Winds NE 10 mph.

TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES (7,800 – 8,200 Feet):

Today: Sunny. Highs 74 / Lows 47. Winds SW 5 – 10 mph.
Saturday / Sunday: Sunny. Highs 84  / Lows 53. Winds W 5 – 10 mph.

MONO COUNTY:

Today: Partly cloudy then sunny. Highs 76 – 86 / Lows 36 – 46. Winds NW 10 – 15 mph.
Saturday / Sunday: Sunny.  Highs 85 – 95 / Lows 43 – 53.  Winds NW 10 mph.

RENO:

Today. Mostly sunny. Highs 84 / Lows 56. Winds W 10 – 20 mph.
Saturday / Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs 88 – 94 / Lows 55. Winds W 5 – 10 mph.
