Heres a question for you. What takes up 4.4 million square miles of the Eastern Pacific? Thats the size of the Gulf of Alaska low pressure system, thats bringing copious amounts of rain to the lower valleys and upper elevation snow to most of California, last night and thru Sunday. That systems first front kicked thru last night and the second more significant one moves thru tonight into Saturday. Here I expect 1 – 2 more feet of snow above 6,000 feet and up to an inch of rain in the lower valleys. It exits the area on Saturday with on-going showers.

Today: 50% chance of rain showers. Highs 59 – 62 / Lows 39 – 44. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 25.
Friday: Rain likely. Highs 52 – 55 / Lows 35 – 40. Winds S 15 – 25 mph G 45.
TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES (7,800 – 8,200 feet):
Today: 100% chance of snow becoming 30% overnight. Highs 38 / Lows 30. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 25.
Friday: 100% chance of snow. Highs 37 / Lows 25. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
MONO COUNTY:
