High pressure axis shifts east today, allowing two storm systems to move into our district. The first of the two storms will push into the district Wednesday, with the bulk of the moisture Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Up to a foot of new snow is possible along the Crest with this one. That storm exits the area Thursday, ahead of another storm Friday into Saturday. It will blast through on the nose of a 200KT jet stream and it looks its main wave will be over SOCAL. But, 18 – 24 inches of snow is still expected on Mammoth Mountain down thru the upper elevations of the Southern Sierra. Snow levels will run about 5,500 – 6,000 feet.
