MON JUL 20 2015
Moisture associated with now decaying hurricane Dolores has moved into our forecast area. To our south Saturday, in San Bernardino County, a few impressive cores developed with rainfall rates of 2 inches an hour. Early Sunday morning Fresno received 3/4 of an inch of rain in just 34 minutes. Sunday as well, Frazier Park in the Kern mountains received over 2 inches. Today, a Flash flood Watch is in affect for the Southern Sierra, as moisture continues to flow northward. Looks like we can expect thunderstorm activity to continue into Tuesday for the Owens Valley and Mono County. ByWednesday, a trough of low pressure develops off the West coast and this will create a drier SW flow. But still a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms over the mountains then. Temperatures will run near average for late July thru the weekend with dry conditions…DMATT
