Strong ridge axis starts to flatten and move east on Thursday into Friday. This is in response to some strong shortwaves moving inland into the PACNW. These systems bring an “atmospheric river of moisture.” How far south this moisture will drop depends on the war between the ridge of high pressure and the moisture laden systems. Northern California right now looks to get hit, including the Tahoe Basin. Time-frame looks like Friday into Saturday and Sunday into Monday, with snow levels running about 8,000 feet. Plenty of time to answer the question, how much precipitation will Mono and Inyo County get. In the meantime, unseasonably warm and dry.
