SYNOPSIS: The upper-level ridge that has so dominated our weather of late, now looks to retrograde West, allowing a shift in the synoptic pattern. So a few weak systems and colder weather are likely this week in our forecast area, starting late today into Tuesday in Mammoth. Also, most forecast models are picking up on a potential rain signature for the upcoming weekend, Friday and Saturday. From there we should trend toward a more negative PNA (Pacific North American) oscillation into February. This is a signal in the right direction for a stormier pattern to develop…DMATT
