FORECAST: The Owens Valley / The Town of Mammoth Lakes
FRI JAN 08 2021 4:23 AM PST
SYNOPSIS: A paltry brush by system will push onshore into Oregon and Northern California today, and bring light precipitation (15 – 20%) mainly to Lassen County. Then a dominant ridge of high pressure will build over the region starting Saturday, steering any potential storms to our North (above 40N), into the PACNW and British Columbia. Temps through the weekend will remain several degrees above normal. Winter what Winter? That ridge will become highly amplified next week, placing H5 heights 580 – 585 dm range. The latest 8 – 14 day outlook from CPC (Climate Prediction Center) shows the region to be dry and mild. That’s definitely not going to help our rainfall deficit…DMATT
