AREA FORECAST: The Owens Valley / The town of Mammoth Lakes
TUE AUG 04 2020
WEATHER DISCUSSION: In the bigger picture, roab plot data / analysis (sounding software) continue to show H5 heights slowly falling, as ridging shifts south and east of our area, over the AZ / NM border. This is in response to a trough moving through the PACNW. Also, there looks to be a rather deep trough (for early August) developing along the CA Coast later this week. So it does look like a break in the heat is here, with temps dropping to slightly above normal. A weak impulse (embedded in the SW flow) may bring a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, as early as Thursday in Mammoth and Mono County…DMATT
