FRIDAY JUL 10 2020
DISCUSSION:
Not too unusual Summer heat is in store for us today into the weekend, with fairly typical afternoon breezes (10 – 20 mph). Temps raise slightly above average over the weekend, as a strong ridge over New Mexico intensifies (598 dm at 500 mb). A glimmer of hope is on the horizon from the heat, Tuesday / Wednesday, as a trough moves through the Prairie Provinces of Canada and the Northern Rockies. This should weaken the high and drop temps a few degrees. Right now, no Monsoon signal for the extended yet. Stay tuned to Monday’s forecast for more updates on all of this…DMATT
DMATTs WEATHER FACT: Expected Sunday temperatures around the area: Reno 96° – Fresno 105° – Las Vegas 114° – Phoenix 117° – Death Valley Visitors Center @ Furnace Creek 124°.
