Mono Lake Ranger District

Roads open: Sonora Pass (SR108), Monitor Pass (SR89), Ebbetts Pass (SR4), Tioga Pass (SR 120 W), Bodie Road (SR270), Saddlebag Road, June Lake Loop (SR158), SR120 E (Mono Mills Road), Lundy Canyon Road.

Campgrounds open: Oh Ridge, June Lake, Gull Lake, Aerie Crag, Silver Lake, Reversed Creek, Glass Creek, Big Springs, Hartley Springs, Obsidian Flat Group (9/30), Upper Deadman (9/30), Lower Deadman (9/30), Lower Lee Vining, Moraine, Big Bend, Aspen, Ellery Lake, Junction, Tioga Lake, Sawmill Walk-In, Saddlebag Lake, Saddlebag Lake Trailhead Group (Res. only), Lundy Canyon (county).

The Mono Basin Visitor Center is open daily, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Fuelwood Permits on sale Monday-Sunday – 8:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Mammoth Ranger District

Roads open: Mammoth Scenic Loop, Old Mammoth Road to Lake Mary Road, Lake Mary Road, Reds Meadow Road (shuttle from Reds Meadow. Resort – weekends only –10:00 am – 3:30 pm).

Campgrounds open: Mammoth Mtn. RV Park (private, year-round). Crowley (BLM), Convict Lake, New Shady Rest, Pine Glen Family/Group (est. closing 9/22), Brown’s Owens River (private), Twin Lakes, Lake Mary (est. closing 9/22), Lake George (est. closing 9/22), Pine City (est. closing 9/22), Coldwater (est. closing 9/22), Reds Meadow, Agnew Meadows Horse (est. closing 9/22), Agnew Meadows Group (est. closing 9/22), Agnew Meadows Family (est. closing 9/22), Minaret Falls (est. closing 9/22).

Campgrounds closed:  Old Shady Rest, Sherwin Creek, Upper Soda Springs, Pumice Flat Group.

NOTE: The Lakes Basin Fuels Reduction Project is beginning September 9th. Twin Lakes, Coldwater and Lake Mary campgrounds will no longer take reservations. They will be first-come – first-served only until the project starts.

The Mammoth Welcome Center is open daily 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Fuelwood Permits on sale Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

The Devils Postpile Ranger Station is open daily 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

White Mountain Ranger District

Roads open: McGee Creek Rd. (open to the pack station), Rock Creek Road, Buttermilk Rd., South Lake Rd., Bishop Creek Hwy 168 to Sabrina, North Lake Road, Silver Canyon Rd. (4×4-Hi Clearance), Wyman Canyon Rd. (4×4-HiClearance), Big Pine Canyon (Glacier Lodge) Road, White Mountain Road – (4×4, high clearance vehicle recommended beyond Schulman Grove).

Temporary road closures due to fire – Tinnemaha, Taboose Creek, McMurry Meadows. Please look to fire updates for the most current information.

Campgrounds open: McGee Creek, Tuff, French Camp, Big Meadow, Iris Meadow, Palisade Group, Pine Grove, Upper Pine Grove, East Fork, Aspen Group (res. only), Rock Creek, Rock Creek Lake Group (res. only), Mosquito Flat Backpacker, Horton (BLM) Grandview (no water, no trash service, firewood is limited), Big Trees, Bishop  Park, Bishop Park Group, Bitterbrush, Four Jeffrey, Forks, Intake 2, Willow, Sabrina, North Lake, Table Mountain Group, Mt. Glen, Pleasant Valley Pit (BLM – no water), Pleasant Valley (County), Cedar Flat Group, Big Pine Creek, Sage Flat, Upper Sage Flat, Clyde Glacier Group, Palisade Glacier Group,

Tinnemaha and Goodale Campgrounds are closed due to the Taboose Fire, check incident updates for most current info. Taboose Creek Campground is temporarily currently. Check with county for updates.

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest Visitor Center is open – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily.

The White Mountain Ranger Station Visitor Center is open daily, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Fuelwood Permits are on sale Monday-Sunday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Mt Whitney Ranger District

Roads open: Foothill Road., Division Creek, Whitney Portal Road, Onion Valley Road (no water at trailhead), Horseshoe Meadow Road., Sherman Pass Road – (across Kern Plateau), access to Blackrock and Monache.

Campgrounds open: Kennedy Meadows, Boulder Creek RV Resort, Diaz Lake (County), Cottonwood Lakes, Cottonwood Pass, Horseshoe Meadows Equestrian, Portagee Joe (County), Tuttle Creek (BLM), Lone Pine, Whitney Portal Family Campground, Independence Creek (County), Upper Grays Meadow and Lower Grays Meadow, Onion Valley (no water).

The Eastern Sierra Visitor Center in Lone Pine is open daily from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, No Fuelwood Permits available.

The Inyo National Forest is not in Fire Restrictions for fire hazard.

BLM is in Fire Restrictions for the season!

Emergencies can produce additional closures.
