WEATHER DISCUSSION:
Ridge of high pressure remains anchored over the Four Corners Region, thru the weekend and next week. This along with an inverted trough moving thru SE CA / Nevada, should bring at least enough moisture for a slight chance of T-storm activity to our area then. Right now PWATs are looking to run in the 0.50 -0.75 range and if continues, will be sufficient for combination of wet / dry T-storm action. Nocturnal dry T-storms look likely. Lastly, not much relief in the heat, as the Climate Prediction Centers 8 – 14 day outlook, shows a high probably for above normal temperatures for all of California. -DMATT-
As a side note on the heat: Today should make the streak 43 days of Reno high temperatures above 90 degrees. Previous record was 35 days.
